Our place
Fosterton Retreat is located on the Fosterton Loop, nestled in the foothills of the Barrington Tops. It is only 10 minutes drive from Dungog, an hour from Newcastle and two and a half hours from Sydney travelling north via the M1 Pacific Motorway (formerly F3 freeway). The location is also convenient to those travelling from the mid north coast through Stroud on the Bucketts Way.
The property of 100 acres overlooks a pristine rainforest valley and the Barrington Tops. The House and Cabins are conveniently located, with easy access, breathtaking views across the valley to the Barrington Tops and a short stroll to the pristine “Die Happy” creek. The picnic and swimming holes along the flowing Williams River are only a 2km drive away.
The Fosterton Loop provides all weather roads, is well signposted and forms part of the network of tourist drives in the area. Fosterton Retreat makes a perfect place to take in the beauty of the area as it provides uninterrupted relaxation, leisurely walks, and good old fashioned peace and quiet. Only the wallabies and abundant birdlife will be sharing your view of the beautiful Barrington Tops National Park.
We offer two self-contained one-bedroom spa cabins for their guests. For larger groups such as birdwatchers, painters, photographers, or family and friends, homestead accommodation (with spa and pool) is available in Fosterton House, set up for 10-14 people. We now have beds for 22 people if you want to book the whole property.
